Tell us plainly, and tell us why, even if the reason is "it just feels wrong". That is useful information. We go back and explore a different direction. It happens, and it is a normal part of the process rather than a problem.
The longer answer
Say so plainly, and say it early. "It just feels wrong" is genuinely useful information even without a reason attached — it tells us the direction is off rather than the execution, which is a much more valuable thing to learn in round one than in round four.
The version of this that goes badly is the client who says everything is fine out of politeness and then goes quiet. Nobody here is offended by a rejected concept; it is a normal part of the process.
