App Icon Design questions
Usually not directly. Most logos include a wordmark that vanishes at icon size. We extract or design a symbol that carries the same recognition in a square.
Android composites your icon from a foreground and background layer so the launcher can mask it into different shapes. Supplying a flat square gets it cropped badly, so we build both layers.
Yes, the complete set including the 16px version, the touch icon and the web manifest entries, because browsers still ask for all of them.
