On larger projects, yes. The standard arrangement is half to start and half on approval of the finished work, and on longer builds it can be split across milestones instead.
Ask before ordering rather than after. A payment plan agreed at the quote stage is straightforward; one requested mid-project is a conversation nobody enjoys.
